Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oukitel has launched a new smartphone K1000 featuring a humongous 10,000mAh battery.The company claims that the battery is enough to last 10 to 15 days of normal use on a single charge. Oukitel unveiled its 6,000mAh battery powered K6000 smartphone in October and its K4000 handset back in September this year, which promised 3 days of use on a single charge.
Apart from a large 10000mAh battery, the Oukitel K10000 is a low end smartphone. It features a 720p 5.5-inch display, a 64-bit 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC and 2GB of RAM, which is basic enough that it actually should help to keep power consumption much lower than flagship phones. The Oukitel K10000 has 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 32GB. It also comes with an 8MP camera on the back with autofocus and a 2MP front facing camera. The rear camera packed with features like HDR mode, face detection, face beauty, Panorama shot, and anti-shake. The connectivity options include GPRS/ EDGE GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, Micro-USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. It measures 143x77x9mm, and weighs 184 grams.
Another important feature of the K10000 is that it comes with reverse charging,which allows users to utilize the handset as a power bank to charge other devices. The company claims that the battery on the Oukitel K10000 can charge three iPhone 6s Plus smartphones. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. There’s also dual SIM or microSD card support, 9V/2A quick charging, and screen gesture shortcuts and unlocking. The smartphone also has 4G LTE functionality on both SIM card slots.
The Oukitel K10000 is priced at $239.99 (approximately Rs. 16,000) and is now available to pre-order via a US-based e-commerce retailer. The company is also offering an introductory discount on the smartphone and is selling it at $199.99 (approximately Rs. 13,500). According to the online retailer, the K10000 will ship starting January 21.
