Micromax has launched its new 4G flagship smartphone Canvas 5 at a price of Rs 11,999. It is available across retail stores. This smartphone should be a value for money device with 4G connectivity and 3GB RAM available under Rs 12k.
The Canvas 5 has a unique design with metal side frame. The smartphone features a 5.2-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920x1080) resolution with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The Micromax Canvas 5 is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor coupled with 3GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The memory is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and it should get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in future.
The smartphone features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front facing camera with LED flash. With the ‘Picture in Picture’ feature, the camera software allows to capture shots with the rear and front camera at the same time. Besides 4G, other connectivity options include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and microUSB 2.0. The smartphone packs a 2,900mAh Marathon battery. The company claims that the battery delivers 10 hrs of talk time and 275 hours of standby time.
The Micromax Canvas 5 comes in Space Grey and Tan Brown colour variants. Micromax is also offering a 'Double Data' offer for Airtel 3G and 4G users with the purchase of Canvas 5.
